About Dr. Duane

Dr. Drake Duane MS M.D.Drake D. Duane, M.S., M.D. has helped to transform the lives of hundreds of patients who suffered from the challenges of learning, behavioral and movement disorders. 

His unique compassionate approach of early identification and intervention treatments has provided measurable improvements in learning, behavior, mood, and self-image.

Dr. Duane is widely published on the topics of learning, behavioral, and movement disorders. He participates in over 20 national associations and councils as an advisor including the National Center for Learning Disabilities. He also uses his many years of experience to mentor medical and pre-medical students across Arizona. He is past president of the International Dyslexia Society and International Academy for Research on Learning Disabilities.

Dr. Duane’s Training

A Regent Alumni Scholar of the University of Michigan in Psychology, Dr. Duane is a graduate with distinction and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical academic honorary from Wayne State University College of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.

After a two year tour in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Psychiatry, Dr. Duane entered a residency in Neurology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

He continued on the faculty of the Mayo Medical School, where he rose to the rank of Associate Professor of Neurology. At Mayo, he co-founded the Learning Disabilities Assessment Program and the Didactic Neurology Training Lecture series for residents, receiving the Teacher of the Year Award from the residents at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.
